GPS watch export guide

Export the recorded activity as GPX.

Garmin, COROS, and Suunto can all produce a GPX file from an outdoor activity. Choose the workout or activity you actually recorded—not a course or route you planned before the trip.

Before you export

Activity and route are not the same file.

Choose this

Activity, workout, training, or track

  • Recorded by the watch during the outing
  • Has a start time and duration
  • Can contain GPS timestamps for matching
Avoid this

Route, course, or navigation plan

  • Created before the outing
  • May contain location only
  • Does not prove when you reached each point
Suunto documents the distinction directly.

A workout GPX includes location and time, while a route GPX contains location information for navigation. LensPin needs the recorded workout type.

Garmin Connect

Export GPX from the activity page.

  1. Sync the watch with Garmin ConnectConfirm the outdoor activity appears with the correct date, duration, and map.
  2. Open Garmin Connect in a web browserSign in, choose Activities, then All Activities.
  3. Open the activity you recordedSelect the activity name rather than opening a saved course or route.
  4. Open the settings gearChoose Export to GPX. Garmin downloads the individual activity file.
  5. Send the GPX file to the iPhoneSave it to iCloud Drive or use AirDrop, then choose it from Files inside LensPin.

COROS app

Export directly from the activity summary.

  1. Sync the COROS watchOpen the Activities tab in the COROS app and select the outdoor activity.
  2. Open the activity menuTap the three dots in the top-right corner of the summary.
  3. Choose ExportSelect GPX from the available activity file formats.
  4. Save to FilesUse the iOS share sheet to save the file locally or in iCloud Drive, where LensPin can select it.

Suunto app

Export the training, not its saved route.

  1. Open the recorded workoutMake sure the activity used GPS; an indoor exercise without GPS cannot produce a useful GPX track.
  2. Tap the three-dot menuOpen the actions in the top-right corner of the workout.
  3. Choose GPX as the export formatThe training GPX contains location and time information from the workout.
  4. Save the file on the iPhoneChoose Save to Files or another share destination, then import the unchanged file into LensPin.

Apple Watch

Use an app that exposes the workout as GPX.

STRAVA

Native Workout → Strava → GPX

Connect Strava to Apple Health with Workouts & Routes permission. Import or automatically sync an eligible Apple Workout, then export GPX from the activity page on strava.com.

NOT HEALTH XML

Avoid the full Health archive

Apple’s “Export All Health Data” creates an XML archive, not a single ready-to-import GPX activity. Use one of the paths above for an individual outing.

Move the file to LensPin

Keep the original export intact.

iCloud Drive

Save the file in Files on a computer or iPhone and wait for the cloud download to finish before selecting it.

AirDrop

Send the .gpx file to the iPhone, choose Save to Files, and keep a recognizable trip name.

GPX

No conversion needed

Do not redraw, simplify, or merge the activity unless it is genuinely broken; conversion can remove time or segment boundaries.

One quick verification is enough.

Open the file in LensPin and confirm that it reports timed track points covering the trip. If not, return to the activity platform and check that you exported the workout rather than a course.
