LensPin is intended for camera-photo batches where each image may need a different place and the route can be reconstructed from time evidence.

Method 2

Set one known place for several photos.

In the Photos library, tap Select, choose the photos, open the More menu, and use Adjust Location. Every selected photo receives the same place.

Good fit

One event, one place

  • Dinner at one restaurant
  • A studio session
  • Photos from one landmark
Poor fit

A route with changing places

  • A road trip across several stops
  • A hike or city walk
  • A day of camera photos around town

Method 3

Match each camera photo along a trip.

When the photos are already in Apple Photos but each one belongs to a different point, a timeline can do the repetitive work. LensPin compares each capture time with a GPX track or nearby geotagged iPhone photos.

  1. Choose the trip dates and cameraLensPin filters to photos without locations and groups them by readable camera make and model. Turn on Include Videos only if you also want to process videos.
  2. Add a location referenceImport a timestamped GPX track, use iPhone photos that already have locations, or combine both.
  3. Review different points for different photosEach suggestion shows its own evidence and can be selected or skipped before anything is saved.

For camera-photo timelines

Match each photo to the trip.

Use a GPX track, nearby iPhone photos, or both. Every location stays reviewable before saving.

Quick answers

Adding photo locations on iPhone

Can Apple Photos add a location without another app?

Yes. It can add or adjust a known location for one photo, and assign one shared place to a selected batch.

Can Apple Photos match different photos to a GPX track?

Apple Photos does not currently provide a GPX-by-time matching workflow for a camera-photo batch. A dedicated geotagging workflow is needed for that task.

Will a library location appear in an exported file?

Not in every export path. A Photos-library location and EXIF GPS inside an image file are related but separate. For a separate photo file with GPS, use Export JPG with Include Location enabled. Non-JPG photos are converted and originals are kept; video GPS export is not supported. See the writeback and export guide.
